Rare 'canadians'

Wireless

milesago.com:
'Australian band Autumn broke up during an ill-fated trip to the UK in early 1972, splitting within just six weeks of their arrival. McMurray, Beatson and Marshall formed Mecca, moved to Canada and went on to join Canadian band Wireless. That band issued three albums of bluesy hard rock, Wireless (1976), Positively Human, Relatively Sane (1979) and No Static (1980), on the Anthem
label.'

I first bought their second album, 'Positively Human', without knowing anything about this band, liked the look of the band and the cover. It wasn't as 'easy' as most albums I bought at that time, mostly more plain hard rock, but it grew fast on me. Since then I've loved it and played it a lot! Then, Geddy Lee produced their third, and that was an obvious investment, and a great album in any way. Awesome playing & twin guitars in a semi prog rock style, not exactly single hit material. Many years later, I eventually got a hold on their first vinyl, and believe me, it's NOT easy to find.
(Years later, I bought the '2 on 1' CD with the second & third album, but sadly it's a bad production, sounds like played on a player with bad batteries. Or a vinyl that's been lying in the sun. Unlistenable.)

But here you got'em all. Have fun! (These are not very high bitrate, but good sound. I might rip them later, with better bitrate. I'll see...)

I think the solution to this 'struggeling postings' are to post less albums each post. So, I might do single album postings in the future, or like here, when a band have 1-3 releases, that makes it much easier with less problems.
Stay cool & rock on!

you are a gold mine, my friend, and to visit your blog is a pleasure.
Been looking for these albums for long, so I'd be more than happy with a better rip.
May I ask you if you also own the self titled Graf album?
Thanks for everything!!

Sorry, I don't have that one.

I remember seeing these guys at the Royal Hotel in Guelph, Ontario. Very talented bunch of musicians, and had been following them for years. Unfortunately, most of the audience did not appreciate what they were watching. They broke up shortly after this.

I can't tell you how nice it is to finally see something about Wireless. My dad managed them when they recorded their first album and I always thought that they were amazing, particularly Steve McMurray and Mike Crawford's twin guitars.

I've been searching for Wireless for years. My sister dated a roadie who gave her No Static. From the first time I played it, I loved it, every track. Some how over the years I lost the album and have been looking ever since.

I've been trying to find Positively Human forever...have many fond memories from high school sitting in a friend's basement with a lot of beer and Wireless on the turntable cranked as high as his Lloyd's stereo would go. Thanks for posting!!

Unbelievable! Thank you so much. I've been looking for these lps forever! Saw the band back in 1980 opening for Rush at the Forum in Montreal. Also saw them at the spectrum in Montreal. My band covered pay to ride in our set (very fun to play on drums) thank you thank you thank you
PS They broke up because Steve McMurray left to join Max Webster. He lasted about a year (saw them at the spectrum in montreal on the only tour)

well this stuff is extremely hard to come by.. there is a CD the anthem years available but the lagging wow and flutter of the music makes it for a cheesy undelivering sound.. I have it. I also have all 3 albums that I made off my albums Im willing to share for die hard fans only. write_2us@yahoo.com send me an email.. this is for collectors and traders.. nothing for something.. so if you got something rare to tarde fro it.. no cash accepted.. I have sooo many hard to find rarieties.. Zon, Moxy, underground Badlands, Phenomena, (Glenn Hughes, Mel Galley, Cozy Powell) I will "give" the wirless music to the poster of the blog for your excellent contribution of all 3 albums, Images I have been long looking for to create a sleeve for the CDs.. thansk much send me an email titled "Wireless" for a copy. / download.. they are excellent quality no rice krispies in my mp3s...

Wow, great write up. I found the albums with Marty on them, 2nd and 3rd on Rock Candy as remastered gems. For the life of me I can't find anything good for the first album with Glenn Beatson on it. I had the album back in the 70's but I have no idea where that would be now. Can you re up and let me know where?

Sensational band. Shame they broke up back in the day.
