I'LL BE BACK!
Sorry all, for not replying and commenting your great comments. It's a long story. Sort of.
I'll answer you all.
I hope some of you are still out there.
After some changes IRL situation, I haven't got quite the good sound in my rip from vinyl setup yet. But I'm working on it. Last time I managed quite well, but now I can't find out what's NOT right.
So my first blog, 'soon', will be rare found stuff or cd's from the vault.
Again, a BIG sorry for not being able to keep up my work here.
Keep rockin' !!
See ya...

Ho-ho-ho...
have these already, or at least heard. Most of them. Can't say when my next blogging will appear, but I'll prepare a monsterblog for the Christmas to enjoy (I wrote this when I thought I had good time to get it done, well... I hadn't.). What's in it, even I don't know yet. If I manage to get my cassette
deck to play, it might even be a few really rare demos from earlier blogged artists, who knows. Wish you all rocking & happy pre-christmas days. A time of year where at least I more than often really need my escape into great & LOUD music, so CRANK IT UP, friends! See ya later.
First out, a minor classic. Legendary Fergy Fredriksen (Trillion, Toto, LeRoux) & Ricky Philips (The Babys, Bad English, Angel!) awesome 1995 release, including co-pilots such as Neal Schon, Deen Castronovo, Bobby Blotzer, Tim Pierce, Pat Torpey, Robim MacAuley and more. Hell, even a great norwegian backing vocal on some tracks here, Aina Olsen! How 'bout that. Love it!
.01 Shot Down (Ricky Phillips)
Musicians: Jimmy Rip, Anton Fig, Graham Maby, Mike Organ, Ed Roynesdal, Tony Aiello. His live band line-up at that moment, also consisted of Rick Benick & Mike Read (Roadmaster).

.More Solli stuff. Great singer. I know, the second and last Sons of Angels album have been blogged & shared on the net earlier, not a very hard album to find. But what's 'new' here, it's that this version have both bonus tracks.

If smooth, well played & produced commercial rock are your cup of tea, you better put the kettle on, then! A good album, and I won't name drop all the obvious and hidden influences here. If you're into this stuff, you'll find out. Some of the opening track simply screams Toto at ya. When I say smooth, it doesn't mean there's no rockers here, because there are both rockin' and funky stuff here. Well done. The members have previously done work with bands such as Brød & Cirkus (another awesome & rare pop rock AOR gem, with norwegian lyrics, I might blog that later), Diezel, Tin Drum, Embee Normann, Alarm (norwegian band), Justin Case, Rondo.

Another collection of norwegian 'power ballads'. Guess most of you have heard most bands here, but there might be a few surprises too. Mostly the safe & known songs by the obvious artists.

It doesn't get much better than this. Period. An album that stunned me right on, from start to finish, way back when I bought it. And a release with quite a special history. For a start, it's a trio - the drummer Eric Valentine produced it (a project to sell his abilities as a future big time producer). The bass player Dan Arlie wrote all the songs. And the guitarist Jeff Tyson, don't do ONE solo on the songs on this album. Not the conventional way for sure. If you haven't heard it, it's not easy to describe. But it's not entirely wrong to say hair metal. But very wrong too. It's SO much more. It's huge, big, creative, adventurous, well arranged sound pastiches that often have a movie soundtrack feeling to it. Filled with awesome hooks, harmonies, and hard and often funky grooves. It's arranged & recorded as a trio to be able to play it live, although it's so much happening vocally & instrumentally that you never think 'it's a trio, and it made the band very busy in a live situation and not much spare moments for the show. It was recorded and produced in a garage studio they build them self while developing the entire product. And when the company wanted a known Led Zep producer to lift it further, they got it back with something like 'What do you want me to do with this? It's perfectly finished'. The tragic thing is that it didn't sell enough to get a release of their second & started album. I've heard it exist, how finished I don't know, but... I would gladly offer a spare body part to get my hands and ears on THAT! In fact, make that my christmas wish for the rest of my entire life! I won't even ask if there's anyone out there who got it. I don't believe in that amounts of luck. But I'll pray for a rerelease with as much bonus tracks as possible! Not very likely, though...

Now, a time to eat and drink and... well, eat more and drink some more. And then drink.

Black Christmas...
bargain bins around. I got my hands on quite some of those releases, but since I didn't listen a lot to that stuff back then, I don't know a lot 'bout them. So, I'll leave it for you to browse for the info yourself. To get this post up'n running today, I have to do it easy on the info. So, grab whatever you want, and have a good time!

.As I said, not a part of my collection, and I don't know much 'bout these bands/releases. And I don't know if you people are interested in some more vintage Mausoleum stuff. You tell me...

looking forward to even more of those. Hopefully. A more or less clean vinyl rip blog this time, and I hope you appreciate it. It takes quite some time to rip, clean-up, tag & name them correctly, and add pix & some info. More later, but here is the load of today:
NWOBHM Compilations
A small treat for you NWOBHM'ers out there. Some great stuff, some not so great stuff, but available here for you now. Trying to get a good sounding rip of some of these, ain't easy, due to the poor quality of some of the productions. Anyway, it's NWOHBM history. Google'em for more info if you want. Kerr-arrghh!

BAD HABITZ
While the majority of TNT played in the Vagabond project, they also made this great live in the studio album. First a Japan release only, then later released in Norway. Great live band too! Seen them live with different singers, the original Børge Pedersen, Jorn Lande, Bjorn Boge (Streel Legal). Years later, I saw Bad Habitz with guest Brian Robertson, and it was AWESOME! Enjoy it.

.1. The Boys Are Back In Town / Do Anything You Want To (Medley)

Bought this back then, nothing I ever had heart of, the cover made me curious, I liked the colors, and by those days standard, they looked like they rocked. Classic Power Pop. A bit new wave'ish, pop rock with some GREAT songs! The original of the wonderful 'Prisoner'. Also great on Uriah Heep's album Abominog. Love it.This album was hard to get on the net for quite some years. I know it's possible to find it now, on WinMX as separate tracks, and blogged. Anyway, I just made this rip from my old vinyl. I think it's a good one. If you haven't heard this album, here's your chance. Recommended.

TUFF DARTS
A kind of Sleazy powerpop rock with a punky approach, some great fun lyrics and tracks here! I've always liked this album a lot! I'm glad I finally got it ripped. Find more info on the band here
http://www.tuffjeffsalen.com/about_tuffdarts.html
trouserpress.com:
Jeff Salen played with Sparks.) The Darts — a junior-league rock band with a penchant for angster clothes — had a total of two good songs, both of which are included on the LP. Otherwise, the record ranges from simply bad to truly wretched, as on the moronic "(Your Love Is Like) Nuclear Waste.'
'A total of two good songs'!? I wouldn't bet on that. Great album full of classic rockers with touches of New York Dolls, Good Rats, Rolling Stones, just a lot more fun!

RANDY BISHOP
An often used songwriter & musician. Here's his solo album from 1985. Including some interesting names. And good songs. Not very hard rockin', but if you're into the Danny Spanos stuff, the softer side of rock with good songs, you'll like this one.

01 - Masquerade - Gimme All Your Love
Talkin' bout a rare one. A hard to get shining pearl here. I guess the norwegian pop rock duo brought in Mick Ronson to benefit from his involvement and success with Dalbello. This album might be described as close to Dalbello, but also a bit Edie Brickell & New Bohemians, good pop rock songs. Mr. Ronson didn't just produce, but are highly involved on most tracks here, on guitar, organ, backing vocals, synth, even tambourine. Definately one for the fans of his work, and the collectors. Enjoy!
Kjersti Bergesen - Vocal & Backing Vocals

Something old, something.. well, a new blog.
Great album by a great band. It's always something special for me to read the cover info on this one. As most of you may have noticed, how could you NOT, I'm a sucker for canadian hard rock from the 70's & 80's, and to see the familiar & local names of the norwegian producer, engineer & studio where I've been several times, and at the same time see the classic Attic Records logo on the same product are really cool. I'm a big admirer of the mighty Bjoern Nessjoe & Rune Nordal's work through the years, and their incredible work on stuff like the early TNT albums & Stage Dolls have impressed a lot of people around the world. I've heard that this production didn't go without some minor disagreement between band/producer, though. Anyway it's a great album, filled with great sounding & rocking tracks! You can't miss this.

EMBEE NORMANN's WONDERLAND
.
A pearl!! I'll never get tired of this great album. A product of love & the awesome work of all people involved. NOT hard rock in any way, but a floating musical experience of stunning quality. The very talented Gjøvik (Norway) born singer, songwriter May Britt Normann invites us in her world of thoughts and colors. Sit back in your most comfy chair and close your eyes and just fly... Too bad it didn't sell much. An album that's as good as impossible to find, even in Norway. More than half of the band TNT are deeply involved here, and so are Jørn Lande in a duet & backing vocals. And that's definately not a bad thing in my book.
